ADU Rules
Only one accessory dwelling unit shall be permitted per lot.
ADUs must be at least 190 square feet but no more than 700 square feet.
New external construction to increase the size of the primary dwelling is not permitted, except as required by life safety codes.
ADUs must meet all existing water and sewage laws and codes. If connected to a well, proof of access to potable water must be provided.
The building and primary dwelling must be owner-occupied.
ADUs cannot be leased or rented as short-term rentals. If leased, the lessee must occupy the ADU for at least 12 consecutive months.
